Field note
Talking premium movement without losing the room | Panel Cornerpoint
17 January 2026
Clients rarely ask for a chart. They ask why the invoice changed. Insurance broker reporting earns its keep when the producer can answer in one breath, then open the schedule if pressed.
Lead with the driver, not the percentage
“Your motor fleet premium rose mainly because two vehicles moved into a higher usage class” lands better than “overall movement is 11%.” Keep the percentage as a footnote.
Separate market from account
If the book-wide panel shows similar movement across peers, say so. If this account alone moved, say that too. Mixing the two stories is how meetings stall.
Leave placing talk for the placer
Our packs deliberately stop before negotiation advice. Producers who blur reporting with placing often over-promise on terms they cannot control that afternoon.
